A solo for Tereza Ondrová that relates her 21 year history of creating and performing at PONEC theatre in Prague to the geological history of the surrounding landscape and ground below, bringing into focus the overlapping archives of her own body, her repertoire and the land the theatre stands on.
Body, building, land. All with a history. All with their own rhythm. All with their own effect on each other. Through layering Tereza’s personal biography with the history of the theater simultaneously with the land below her feet, she provides a very personal entry for the audience to process the relationships between the individual, historical, social and political contexts. Through this dance and with the help of a geophone, the ground below and the body above will guide us into awareness of the landscape we all inhabit.
During the pandemic Temporary Collective welcomed the need to rethink our working methods. We reoriented how we dealt with production, collaboration and travel and generated new approaches. To counter the demand for constant production and to open more sustainable pathways for our artistry and partnerships, we began to revisit past works. This led us to the creation of GEO LOCAL.
Premiere: 7.10.2023, 20:00, PONEC – dance venue
GEO can be performed in various contexts: theaters, classrooms, museums, galleries, festivals, train stations, and public squares.
