Katarína provides long-term and comprehensive care for our technical and lighting environment and backstage infrastructure.
She studied operations and economics at the University of Žilina in Žilina and from 2005 to 2011 she worked at the Stanica Žilina – Záriečie cultural center, where she gained extensive experience in running a cultural hub and organizing international events. It was here that she discovered her passion for light design and contemporary dance.
Since 2012, she has been active mostly in Prague, focusing on project management (Czech Dance Platform 2013, 2015, 2016, Aerowaves Spring Forward in Pilsen 2016, Dancing Museums and Dance Well projects), production (Institute of Lighting Design), coordination (Staff Exchange within the Trans Europe Halles network, Anténa – sieť pre nezávislú kultúru, European Lighting School), and artistic collaborations with different ensembles.
In addition to her work on new lighting solutions and touring, she has been the Technical Director of the TANEC PRAHA festival from 2014 until January 2024, Bratislava v pohybe since 2020, and since 2022 she has been organizing a light art festival in Žilina (SK). From 2018 to 2021, she was a member of the Executive Committee of the Trans Europe Halles network of independent cultural centers. She has twice received awards for lighting design at the Czech Dance Platform festival in collaboration with VerTeDance and Jiří Havelka, for the productions Flow (2017) and Korekce (2014).
